AUGUSTE PÉGURIER

1856-1936

Born in 1856 in Saint- Tropez, Auguste Pégurier  was the first true ambassador of St-Tropez’ splendor.

Like the Impressionist masters, he has the sense of the moving light, water thrills and sunny atmospheres. The artist covers his paintings with vibrant touches and flickering colors in order to capture the impalpable light of Provence, to express tenderness and poetry with the charm of a changing nature, catching the sweet fleeting harmonies of his native country .
