André Cottavoz, born in Saint-Marcellin (Isère) on July 29, 1922 and died on July 8, 2012 in Vallauris. French painter and lithographer, Cottavoz belonged to the School of Paris as well as to the Sanzistes group, a group from Lyon which had among its members Jean Fusaro or Jacques Truphémus.

His technique is based on a “sensual paste that he accumulates in pastel and chalky tones […] thereby being figurative in the sense that he starts from reality, but also abstract in the sense that he reduces it to its essence. "(Jean-Pierre Delarge) André Cottavoz's works appear in many museums in France and abroad, and multiple exhibitions of his works have been organized in France and abroad from 1946.
